| CUSTOMER REVIEWS: | 5/5 - "ACTUALLY REMASTERED!!" My favorite album of Pet Shop Boys. An excellent mixture of situations of that time, united in one of their maximum points of creativity. "It's a sin", What have I done to deserve this?", " Rent ", " Heart ", transformed in classic. Personally I love "It Couldn't Happen Here", with Morricone's collaboration in the composition. Songs and remixes impossible to find at the moment, are included in the CD 2. ¡A collection piece!!
3/5 - Actually Actually~ Pet Shop Boys is ok. It does not sound terrible; then again it is not awesome either. The songs sound a bit mechanical and the lyrics are a bit stupid. Even so 3/5 .
5/5 - A classic album from a unique group at their peak. This album can only be described as a classic. From the thumping, anticipatory opener 'One More Chance', through the aural joys of 'What Have I Done To Deserve This?' and 'It's A Sin' to the mournful closer 'King's Cross', this is the Pet Shop Boys putting nearly all of their contemporaries to shame. Unlike some of their more recent material, Actually sounds cohesive, with the production and lyrics of the tracks flowing together to form one masterpiece. 'I Want To Wake Up' (produced by a pre-Madonna Shep Pettibone) pulses about the angst of unrequited love. 'It Couldn't Happen Here' sighs about the sadness of AIDS. 'King's Cross' explains the dangers and loneliness of casual sex. If you care about lyrics actually meaning something, then this album (and all PSB recordings) is for you. And let's face it, Actually is a jollysight better than their first album. |
